U.S. Consulate General Celebrates Progress on New Facility

U.S. Consul General Michael S. Owen presided over the “topping off” ceremony of the new U.S. Consulate General building in Bandra Kurla Complex on April 25 afternoon. Mr. Jairaj Pathak, Bombay Municipal Commissioner, served as Chief Guest.
The new building has been under construction since 2006. With the frame of the building complete, i.e., “topped off”, the U.S. Consulate General took the occasion to invite dignitaries and representatives of neighboring institutions to view the progress made and tour the site. The ceremony was an occasion to commemorate the excellent progress made thus far, as well as to look ahead to the formal inauguration in spring 2009. (more)
