The Courier System and Rush Service

With the courier system, successful applicants do not have to return to the Consulate to collect their passports. The passport with visa will be returned to any address in the Mumbai Consular District specified by the applicant. This process substantially reduces the total time people spend in visa lines, and the passport is delivered promptly to the successful applicant.

VFS now offers "Rush" service. If the visa is issued, most passports with the new visa are turned over to VFS on the same day as the interview, for distribution through Blue Dart.

A successful applicant who request rush service should visit the VFS office in Mumbai on the evening of his/her visa interview between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. Advance registration for this service is neither required nor possible. Tracking of passports for this service is not available. We cannot guarantee that every passport will be available for pickup from this service on the same day as the interview. If the passport is not picked up through the optional Rush service, it will be shipped by the default courier service.
