“American Food Festival” in Mumbai, September 14-October 7, 2007

Mumbai – Spencer’s, one of India’s leading retail chains, will showcase a wide range of U.S. products at an “American Food Festival” from September 14 to October 7, 2007 at 29 stores in the National Capital Region and Mumbai.

Mr. Michael Owen, U.S.  Consul General in Mumbai, along with Mr. Nimish Shah, Vice President Operations, Spencer’s Retail Limited, will formally inaugurate the Festival on Monday, September 17, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Spencer’s Hyper in the Inorbit Mall at Malad (W).

The U.S. products to be showcased in the festival include almonds, apples, grapes, pears, prunes, soya products and a range of consumer food products from the Southeastern, Midwest, and Northeastern United States.

The “American Food Festival” has been organized by the Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, in coordination with Spencer’s Retail Limited and various American food industry groups.
