Teach for America CEO and founder Wendy Kopp visits Mumbai

U.S. Consul General Paul Folmsbee hosted a reception on July 25 in honor of Teach For America (TFA) founder Wendy Kopp.  Wendy Kopp is the founder and CEO of TFA, which selects young graduates and working professionals to teach at underserved schools for two years.  TFA inspired the founding of Teach For India (TFI), which is in its first year and has placed 87 Fellows in schools in Mumbai and Pune.  Aamir Khan who attended the reception in his capacity as the TFI Ambassador appealed to the influential guests present to “be a part of this movement that is sensitizing society to help deprived children get the benefit of education.
