American Documentary Showcase Debuts in Mumbai

Media and Communication Students during Sandra Ruch Presentation on Documentary Films

The U.S. Consulate General, Public Affairs Section, organized a two-day event around the American Documentaries Showcase, a State Department sponsored program,  at the American Center on August 17-18, 2009.  Documentary film expert Sandra Ruch screened “The Hobart Shakespeareans,”  followed by an interactive discussion with media students.   Students and three faculty from several media and communications institute participated.  On August 18, Ruch conducted  a master class on documentary film making for a group of documentary filmmakers  in Mumbai, offering expertise on American documentary films, themes, festivals, rights, and distribution.
