U.S. Congressional Delegation Visits USAID-supported HIV/AIDS Facility in Mumbai

The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Ms. Nancy Pelosi, and a delegation of senior Members of Congress, visited the Salvation Army/Home Based Care for People Living with HIV/AIDS Center on Monday, March 24.

In addition to a tour of the facility, the delegation learned more about the Salvation Army’s work which receives support from the Avert Project.  Members of Congress heard personal stories from persons living with HIV/AIDS who use the center.  In addition to medical facilities and home based caregiver training, the center provides income generation training.
