Songwriter/Singer Carrie Newcomer performs in Mumbai

The American Center organized two concerts and workshops with American singer and songwriter Carrie Newcomer in Mumbai September 29-30, 2009. On September 29, Newcomer performed at the St. Andrew’s College auditorium showcasing American folk songs. The event was well attended by 600 faculty, students, and the general public, including members of the American Center. Newcomer conducted an exclusive workshop for 40 music students later in the afternoon.
On September 30, Newcomer performed at the Happy Home and School for the Blind. There were 250 students of Happy Home and School, and from the Bombay International School. The program was followed by an interactive workshop with 50 students.
