"Citizen Josh" Highlights Importance of Civic Activism

The American Center presented the one-man political comedy “Citizen Josh” at Mumbai University, Kalina Campus, Santa Cruz on August 21, 2009. The university’s Academy of Theatre Arts co-sponsored the play at Marathi Basha Hall. Approximately 450 theater lovers, faculty and students enjoyed one citizen’s take on American democracy and civic engagement. The monologue, written and performed by Josh Kornbluth, was a blend of recent electoral history with stories from the Civil Rights movement and academia. On August 22, 2009, Kornbluth led a theater workshop for 35 students of the Academy of Theatre Arts.
