Panel discussion on disability issues

The American Library Mumbai in association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) organized a panel discussion on disability based on articles from the U.S. Embassy publication, Article & Web Alert, January/February 2009. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Lina Kashyap, Deputy Director, Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The panelists Jyotsna Mody, senior social work practitioner spoke on issues related to intervention and Dr. Srilatha Juvva, Chairperson, Center for Disability and Action, TISS spoke on the theoretical perspectives. A 100 strong audience of students, government representatives, social workers, academics, special educationists and a few disabled persons kept the panelists very busy in the Q & A session that followed the presentations.
