A Tribute concert to celebrate the Eighth Annual “Daniel Pearl World Music Days” in Goa

The American Center in Mumbai, along with Kala Academy in Goa organized the Eighth Annual “Daniel Pearl World Music Days” concert, held at the Kala Academy, Goa, on October 9, 2009. This concert was held in honor of American journalist and musician Daniel Pearl, slain in Pakistan, on January 30, 2002. The performing artist at the concert was Daniel Tyler Pohnke of Full Moon Rising, along with local artists from Mumbai and Goa. Radio Mirchi, Goa was the media partner for this event. Daniel Pearl World Music Days, held annually during the month of October, is designed to raise awareness and promote tolerance and understanding of our shared humanity. An accomplished musician, Pearl connected with people through music in every country. Daniel Pearl World Music Days coincides with Pearl's October 10 birthday. It commemorates his life and work by using the universal language of music to spread a message of hope, unity and "Harmony for Humanity."
