Passport Passback by Courier

Effective January 3, 2006, the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai will offer courier passback for newly issued passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.  We will no longer deliver passports by registered mail.

All American citizens who wish to receive their new passports by courier must purchase a pre-paid courier envelope for Rs. 152 at any VFS office in western India and submit the envelope when they come to apply for a passport.  If you currently have a passport you must show it when purchasing your envelope. We regret that we are unable to accept the courier fees at the American Citizen Services Unit.
