Immigrant visa fees

In addition to the fees for filing a petition, all immigrant visa (IV) applicants must pay an application fee.  For petitions filed in the United States, these fees are normally collected from the petitioner by the National Visa Center (NVC).  If you are applying for a diversity visa (DV) or if your petition was filed overseas (such as at the Embassy in New Delhi), you must pay the fees at your interview. The application fee for K visa applicants is $131 for each applicant

If your petitioner has paid the fees, please bring a copy of the receipt to your interview.  If your petitioner paid only a portion of the fees, you must pay the difference at your interview.  The fees for immigrant visa applicants currently total $400, and the fees for diversity visa applicants are $775.  Following is the schedule of immigrant visa fees:

All fees paid to our office must be paid in rupees or dollars through a bank draft drawn on a nationalized or foreign bank in favor of the American Consulate General, Mumbai. With effect from November 2, 2009, our consular rate of exchange is Rs. 48 = $1.
