What are the fees for immigrant visas?
Immigrant Visa applicants must each pay an application fee of $355 (or Rs.17,040/-) as well as a supplemental fee of $45 (or Rs.2,160/-) for a total fee of $400 (or Rs.19,200/-). If these fees have already been paid to the National Visa center (NVC) in the U.S. by the petitioner, the applicant does not have to pay them a second time. If only the $335 fee was paid to the NVC, the applicant must pay the $65 (or Rs.3,120/-) supplemental fee at the time of the interview. Note that all fees paid to our office must be paid in rupees or dollars through a bank draft drawn on a nationalized or foreign bank in favor of the American Consulate General, Mumbai. With effect from November 2, 2009, our consular rate of exchange is Rs.48 = $1.
Each K visa applicant must pay only a $131 (or Rs.6,288/-) application fee on the day of the interview. Note that all fees paid to our office must be paid in rupees or dollars through a bank draft drawn on a nationalized or foreign bank in favor of the American Consulate General, Mumbai.
