H1N1 Flu Outbreak
The Consulate has reevaluated its policies on disease prevention in light of the global H1N1 Influenza A virus outbreak. Though the new virus has not been confirmed in India, threats from other diseases exist here. People who are sick with contagious illnesses can inadvertently infect others around them, including our staff. In the interest of all, we have instituted the following policy with immediate effect:

About our office
The U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai provides services to U.S. citizens located in the Indian states of Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Goa, and the Union Territories of Daman, Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli. Our office is open to the public for routine services from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on all weekdays except for the last Friday of every month and official holidays. If visiting during office hours, you do not require an appointment unless you are applying for a Consular Report of Birth. We also provide emergency services to U.S. citizens 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
