American Alumni Association Grants Available to Students Planning U.S. Studies
On July 19, 2008, U.S. Consul General Folmsbee was the Chief Guest at the American Alumni Association’s (AAA) Education Americana Nite 09. A highlight of the evening was the awarding of 22 travel grants to students bound for the U.S. for university education. With over 93,000 Indian students at American universities, the Indian student population is larger than any other international group. The U.S. Consulate General has been working with the American Alumni Association (AAA) in its outreach to Indians who are interested in or already studying in the United States. Every year, the AAA provides financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- each to students who have secured admission or have an admission offer from a U.S. institute for post-graduate education. The deadline for applications for grants for the upcoming 2009-10 academic year is Friday, May 29. Please see http://www.americanalumni.net/student-resources/ for more information.
