2009 Press Releases
U.S. Consulate Visa Information Sessions for Travel Agents and Students at AMA on October 8
October 5, 2009
Mumbai-- To answer questions related to U.S. visas, the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai is organizing an outreach program in Ahmedabad on October 8. Two presentations on the visa application process will occur at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) , one for travel agents at 10 am and one for students at 5 pm.
The United States is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. However, potential travelers are often concerned about the most important aspect of legal travel to the U.S., getting a visa. What is the process of getting a visa? Who is eligible? How can someone apply?
The U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai invites interested travel agents and arrangers to join Vice Consul Lisa Larson and staff from the U.S. Consulate for a frank discussion on the myths and realities of the U.S. visa process. While the presentation will be in English, some Gujarati translation will be provided. The event will occur at the AMA on October 8 at 10 am.
The American Corner will also host a presentation for students interested in educational opportunities in the U.S. at 5 pm on October 8 at the Ahmedabad Management Association. Please contact Mukund Patel (Phone: 079-26308601) from the American Corner for more information.
A partnership between the U.S. Embassy and the AMA, the American Corner provides a window to the U.S. for the residents of Ahmedabad by making available to them accurate and up-to-date information on the United States, while also serving as a public platform for the screening of videos and films, book discussions, programs by U.S. experts and orientation sessions for students.
